That first time ๐Ÿ˜จ

Hey Reader,

I have been an entreprenuer for over 13 years now and can honestly say I love everything about operating my own business. Has it always been easy? No! ๐Ÿ˜… But the knowledge, experiences and connections I have gained along the way are truly priceless.

For both of my businesses, one thing holds true. In person networking was the one marketing avenue that I used that gave me the best results. This was the game changer for me in moving the needle from just getting started to wow this business is really working well!

But getting comfortable actually doing this. Not so easy. That first time (or first several times ๐Ÿ˜‰) in the beginning was so difficult for me to do.

Sometimes you simply have to get out of your own way!

Putting yourself out there ๐Ÿซฃ

What worked for me as I literally forced myself to get out of the car and walk into the meeting, stomach in knots, palms sweaty, all the things.

  1. Show up early. Nothing feels more intimidating than walking into a room full of strangers with all eyes on you.
  2. Have a "making connections" versus "ugh, selling" mindset. This really will make all the difference in how you both feel and present yourself.
  3. Bring business cards. Yes, those are still a thing ๐Ÿคฃ and super important when networking in person. Digital options work too.
  4. Have a QR code to your lead magnet, Instagram page or wherever you want them to land on your business card to make it super easy for folks to quickly connect with you.
  5. Be you. This can be challenging if you are nervous and uncomfortable but trying to present yourself in a certain manner just makes everything more difficult. Just be you, really.

Bonus tip ๐Ÿ‘‰ This process gets easier the more you do it, I promise. Eventually you will feel excited to go to these meetings and see the people you've gotten to know and like. You will also be actively growing your network, finding referral partners and increasing your sales and revenue.

Do you network either in person or virtually? Hit reply and let us know! Seriously, we LOVE hearing from you.๐Ÿ˜Š

Cheers to your success,
Christina & Alexis

Hey Reader, If you own a small business you've likely heard of a lead magnet or freebie. Honestly as a consumer you've likely received someone else's freebie. Maybe a lot of them! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Essentially a lead magnet is a valuable resource you offer for free to your audience in exchange for their email address. But it's really goes way beyond that. A quality lead magnet is so...

Hey Reader, What is a business brand? The short of it is, it's a the elements and components you choose to identify your brand across all of your marketing platforms. And it's important for a few different reasons like brand awareness with your audience whether that be your email subscribers, social media followers or anywhere else you "show up" as your business. One of my most favorite things about establishing your brand is once it's set up, creating your marketing designs seems to flow a...
