Hey Reader,
If you own a small business you've likely heard of a lead magnet or freebie. Honestly as a consumer you've likely received someone else's freebie. Maybe a lot of them! π
Essentially a lead magnet is a valuable resource you offer for free to your audience in exchange for their email address. But it's really goes way beyond that.
A quality lead magnet is so much more than something you are giving away for free. Itβs the first step in a marketing strategy that can bring long term growth and build strong relationships. It's the perfect opportunity to help your audience solve a problem all while showcasing your expertise in your industry.
If you don't already have one or feel like the one you have isn't really doing it's job well enough, we have tips and actionable strategies you can use to create or update your lead magnet.
Also, incorporate your real human touch into what you create. Folks can easily use AI to "learn" about anything really. The key to setting your lead magnet apart is to make it AI proof with videos or audio of you, your exact processes and frameworks that you use with customers and actual client stories or testimonials. The goal is to create something that can't be easily searched or found with AI.
It make take a little more work and time, but will audience will be able to easily see that you really know what you are talking and that will be worth it!
What comes next?πͺ
Creating a quality lead magnet and getting it out to your audience is a great first step. Really the first step (in my opinion π) in your email marketing strategy. After choosing your email service provider of course.
Sidenote ~ We (and a lot of our clients) use and love Kit (aff link) if you are in the process of choosing an email service provider or considering a change. It's so user friendly and just makes all things email marketing so easy to do.
Back to it...
So your lead magnet is ready, but what comes next is just as important. Consider that you are working with warm leads in that they've already seen what you do or offer and they've signed up for more. So give them what they are asking for!
Next you want to write your emails for your Welcome Sequence. Think two to four emails welcoming your new subscribers, sharing more about what you, how you help and what you offer and create opportunities for a conversation.
And the most important step of all is to be consistent with sending emails. I encourage one email per week. You can certainly send more, but I would not suggest sending less. Again, you are talking to people who signed up to hear from you. What you share goes directly to their inbox. Like straight to them!
Your email list can be the most powerful marketing tool in your business. Show it love, nurture it and keep growing it!
