Hey Reader,

Do you use social media to market and grow your small business? Our poll last week asking what marketing strategy you struggle with or want to get started was 100% social media. 😳 So whether you find it overwhelming or just want to get started, we've got a few tips to help you with Instagram specifically.

When it comes to creating content one of the main things to keep in mind is to speak to the emotional results just as much as the physical results that your products or services provide. When you are sharing tips, strategies, client results and wins emphasize the feeling this change or transformation brings with it. Talk to your followers just as you would if you were engaged in a face to face conversation.

And be your wonderfully authentic self folks, seriously. Humans connect with humans and that's how we build that oh so important trust with our people. πŸ’œ

Engagement is the goal! 🎯

Link in bio

We all know Instagram does not like links in our posts, captions or comments. 😐 Your link in bio is the hot spot to add your important links for your followers. You can have up to five so take advantage of this! The goal is to make is as easy as possible for folks who are interested in working with you to learn more about you, what you have to offer and easily find their way to schedule with you.

A few link in bio ideas...

  1. Online scheduler to book a call or appointment
  2. Contact or lead form if they have questions
  3. Your lead magnet or freebie (get that email address!)
  4. Paid products or services
  5. Storefronts like LTK or Amazon
  6. Groups you run or have established for your community
  7. Other social media pages
  8. Your website or blog page

There's more options for sure and a lot of this will depend on the type of business you own. Essentially add the five most important links that direct people to the thing you most want them to do.

Highlights

This section of Instagram is a great place for folks to check you out on that platform. As you share your stories (that eventually disappearπŸ™ƒ), you add them to your highlights where they live on and showcase all the great things about you and your business.

A few highlight category ideas...

  1. About Me
  2. Client Testimonials
  3. FAQ's or Q&A
  4. Services
  5. Products
  6. Before & Afters
  7. Client Results
  8. Tips
  9. Speaking engagements
  10. Events

Again these categories will depend on your business, but you definitely want to include a highlight to showcase you and your team, your services or products and client testimonials or results.

Now head over to our Instagram to see the three posts you should pin to your grid and while you're there follow us. Yes, we will follow back! πŸ™Œ

Hey Reader, If you own a small business you've likely heard of a lead magnet or freebie. Honestly as a consumer you've likely received someone else's freebie. Maybe a lot of them! πŸ˜‰ Essentially a lead magnet is a valuable resource you offer for free to your audience in exchange for their email address. But it's really goes way beyond that. Hey Reader, What is a business brand? The short of it is, it's a the elements and components you choose to identify your brand across all of your marketing platforms.
